What’s In and Out for 2025: Quad Cities International Airport Edition
February 3, 2025
The QC Airport is ready to take your travel game to the next level in 2025. With exciting new routes, terminal transformations and community milestones, here’s your definitive In and Out guide for 2025:
✈️ What’s In
Nonstop Connections:
American Airlines to Charlotte:
Introduced in December 2023, this route connects Quad Cities travelers to the East Coast, Florida, the Caribbean and Europe through American Airlines‘ extensive global network. Whether for business or leisure, Charlotte is the perfect hub to launch your next adventure.
Allegiant’s Seasonal Sarasota Route:
Starting February 13, 2024, and running through May 11, this seasonal route offers a sunny escape from the Midwest winter. Sarasota, Florida, is your go-to destination for stunning beaches and vibrant culture. While the inaugural season is short, we’re optimistic for a return in 2025!
FlyMyAirport Booking Tool:
Simplify your travel planning with this user-friendly feature on qcairport.com. Search destinations worldwide, find daily deals, and get real-time connection and pricing details with the drop-down calendar. Say goodbye to travel headaches and hello to effortless booking.
Terminal Glow-Ups:
Major upgrades are happening! The ticketing counters are getting a fresh look, and behind the scenes, a new baggage makeup building is nearly complete. This means no more lugging your checked bags to a separate screening area. Operations for TSA and airline ground crews will also be more efficient. Phase one wraps up this spring, with even more updates on the way.
Golden Milestones:
We’re celebrating 50 years of service by the Quad Cities International Airport Police and Fire Department. This remarkable team handles law enforcement, first response and firefighting—all while providing excellent customer service. Their dedication ensures QC Airport is safe and welcoming 24/7. To better capture their expansive responsibilities, the department has been officially renamed from the Public Safety Department to the Quad Cities International Airport Police and Fire Department.
Flying Local:
Choosing QC Airport keeps your travel simple and your community strong. Airlines decide when and where to add routes and one of the main factors is regional demand. And the decision-making process can take years! Every local flight supports more route options, better facilities and an overall elevated experience.
🛑 What’s Out
Complicated Booking Processes:
Endless tabs and confusing itineraries? Leave that behind in 2024. FlyMyAirport brings clarity and ease to your travel plans right from the QC airport website.
Clunky Terminals:
Outdated baggage systems, noisy floors and inefficient layouts are history. With Project GATEWAY’s updates, QC Airport is becoming sleek and streamlined.

While exploring our newest routes (Charlotte, Sarasota), don’t overlook our other hubs and destinations: Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix/Mesa, Orlando/Sanford, St. Pete/Clearwater and Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers.
