Airfield Maintenance – Seasonal
The Metropolitan Airport Authority has several openings for full-time seasonal employees to perform grounds, equipment and facilities maintenance during the summer months. This first shift position includes regular outside work. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Starting pay is $10.50 per hour. Selected candidates must pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen. Director of Operations and Maintenance
The Metropolitan Airport Authority of Rock Island County, IL seeks an experienced leader for its operations and maintenance departments. The Director of Operations and Maintenance provides overall leadership and vision for the Airfield, Facilities, Public Safety, and Engineering functions of the Quad City International Airport and coordinates all landside and airside projects. Responsibilities include coordination of all aspects of the Airport Certification, Emergency and Security Manuals to ensure compliance with all the provisions of FAR Part 139; developing and implementing procedures and policies for day-to-day airport security and safety operations and maintenance activities; developing and implementing procedures to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations pertaining to aircraft operations, ground vehicle operations, and construction and maintenance activities; and monitoring airport policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations pertaining to airside and landside operations.
The successful candidate will have a strong airport operations background and be able to demonstrate the following: history of effective leadership in an airport environment; experience and/or knowledge of business, including financials and workforce; history of effectiveness with respect to airport management; commitment to ethical behavior and history of effectiveness in the areas of risk management, compliance, and certification. Experience working with a union workforce and administering a collective bargaining agreement is highly desired as is experience working with a governing board.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration or related field; five (5) years experience in airport operations with three (3) years experience in airport operations management; Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) credential or ability and commitment to obtain this designation within two (2) years of hire. FAA pilots rating is desirable.
Required Special Qualifications: Ability to pass a post-employment offer physical examination and drug screen; ability to pass a background investigation to obtain unescorted Airport Identification/Access privileges; ability to operate a motor vehicle and possess a driver’s license valid in the State of Illinois.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pay range: $86,480 - $108,100. Building Maintenance Technician - FT
The Metropolitan Airport Authority seeks a full-time Building Maintenance Technician to join our Building Maintenance team. The Building Maintenance Technician has responsibility for maintaining and repairing various mechanical systems, including preventive maintenance, renovation and installation of equipment.
Education, Experience, and/or Training: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, and considerable experience in HVAC repairs; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of computer systems and ability to utilize related software; ability to read and understand electrical schematics, electrical code manuals, routings and other manufacturing instructions; ability to exercise independent judgment in determining operating conditions, making repairs and meeting emergency situations; ability to learn FAA regulations and other federal, state and local regulations that affect maintenance and operations of an airport; ability to use handheld and ground radios to effectively communicate and report physical location at all times, especially when inside restricted areas of airport grounds.
