Foley Named First Female Chair in Airport Authority Board History



Moline, Illinois-           For the first time in the 67-year history of the Quad City International Airport, a female has been appointed as Chair of the Metropolitan Airport Authority.  Molly Foley, the appointee from the city of Rock Island and a native to the area, took over the reins at the July 15, 2014 annual meeting. Her term as Chair is for two years.

          Bruce Carter, Director of Aviation, stated “Molly brings a tremendous amount of knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm to the airport and is very interested in expanding non-aeronautical revenue opportunities, and additional air service to this region.  She will strive to make travel an easier experience for all of our customers.”

           Ms. Foley was the first female commissioner when she was appointed to the board by Former Mayor Mark Schweibert in 2006.  She has since been re-appointed by current Mayor Dennis Pauley.  “I am very happy that I was able to re-appoint Molly to the Airport Board,” Pauley said.  “She has done an outstanding job and I am confident that she will be an excellent Chair.  She is doing a great job representing the Airport Authority, and the city of Rock Island,” Pauley added.

            Ms. Foley, 40, resides in Rock Island with her husband, Paul (P.J.). She is the Marketing Director for KJWW Engineering Consultants and former Vice President of the Illinois Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. She has played an active role in economic and community development for the Quad Cities region for 15 years.

            Commissioner roles for the next two years are as follows:  Molly Foley, Chair, Donald (Don) Margenthaler, Vice Chair, Robert (Bob) Leibovitz, Secretary, and James (Jim) Bohnsack, Treasurer. Remaining on the board as Commissioners are James (Jim) Jannes, John Malvik, Carl Robinson, and Richard (Dick) Work.
