Ft Myers Service Starting February 17

AIRTRAN AIRWAYS TO BEGIN NONSTOP FT. MYERS SERVICE SOONER THAN EXPECTED
Nonstop Service from Moline/Quad Cities starts Thursday, February 17, 2011

MOLINE/QUAD CITIES --   The Airport Authority was notified yesterday by officials at AirTran Airways that their nonstop Ft. Myers service, initially scheduled to start in March of 2011, will now start on Thursday, February 17, 2011.  The nonstop flights will operate four days per week-- every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.  Flight times are as follows:

“This is tremendous news for travelers in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.  Travelers can schedule their trips back and forth from the Ft. Myers area several weeks earlier than anticipated,” says Bruce Carter, Director of Aviation.  “These flights will be extremely convenient for area snowbirds as well as families visiting their relatives who winter in the
Southern & Western Florida area. The Ft. Myers and surrounding area is very popular for those who enjoy spring baseball training,” Carter adds.

 

Flights may be booked now at airtran.com, by calling 1-800-AIR-TRAN or by calling your local area travel agent.  If travelers would like to receive AirTran Airways sale e-mails, they can sign up by visiting airtran.com and clicking on the ‘net escapes’ button.  Additionally, the QCIA sends out frequent e-mail notices.
