Airport Records “Best November” in History

(Moline/Quad Cities)                     The Director of Aviation announced today at the Metropolitan Airport Authority monthly Board meeting that November, 2010,

was the best November in history.  There were 42,641 passengers enplaned last month, beating the previous November ‘07 record by 2,877 passengers. Total

enplanements and deplanements for November were 84,412.

November enplanements by carrier were as follows:

Delta Air Lines:     16,883

United Express:    11,053

AirTran Airways:    7,301

American Eagle:    5,166

Allegiant Air:         1,671

Bruce Carter, Director of Aviation, attributes the November record to the addition of Allegiant Air’s Phoenix-Mesa service, which began November 18th.  “Allegiant flew the new Phoenix-Mesa route two Thursdays and two Sundays last month and their existing Las Vegas service eight times last month. That put us at an advantage for boarding excess passengers in November.”  Carter adds, “I am pleased with the passengers on AirTran’s nonstop Orlando flights. These flights continue to be popular with families, particularly during this time of year. Now, we are setting our sights on the nonstop Ft. Myers service on AirTran, which begins February 17, 2011, with service four days per week. These flights will be utilized by families going back & forth to see their relatives who live or spend winters in the south/western FL region.”

Airport officials would like to remind passengers that holiday packing and travel tips can be found at www.tsa.gov, in the “for travelers” section, or by searching for “packing tips.”

The Quad City International Airport offers nonstop service by five airlines to ten U.S. cities, with hundreds of connections beyond.  The QCIA strives to make travel an ‘easier’ experience.   # # #
