Airport Logs “Second Best October” in History

 (Moline/Quad Cities)

The Director of Aviation announced at the Metropolitan Airport Authority monthly board meeting today that October, 2010, was the

second best October in history for passenger enplanements.  43,325 passengers boarded airlines at the QCIA last month. The record continues to be held by October of

2007.

Bruce Carter, Director of Aviation, states “We’ve had a good fall travel season.  October’s numbers were strong because of the six Las Vegas flights last month,

which started on the 14th of October.  We are anticipating a spike in travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. This, along with the Phoenix-Mesa service that started last week, will allow us to post strong numbers for November as well,” Carter adds.

October enplanements by carrier:
Delta Air Lines:              17,567

United Express:             11,527

AirTran Airways:             7,795

American Eagle:             5,497

Allegiant Air:                   834   (*based on 6 flights for October.)

Now that Allegiant’s Phoenix-Mesa service has begun, daytime ticket counter hours are now available.  Tickets may be purchased for one hour after the Phoenix-Mesa and Las Vegas departures, from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., and again from 8:45 p.m. – 9:45 p.m., every Thursday & Sunday.

The Quad City International Airport offers nonstop service by five airlines, nonstop to eleven U.S. cities, with hundreds of connections beyond.  The QCIA strives to make travel an ‘easier’ experience.
