Security/Badging NEWS
January 2013 - All badges will now show a capital letter “E” which indicates that the badge holder has completed the escorting training procedures, and has escorting privileges. This changeover process on currently issued badges may take up to one year. As badges become due for renewal, they are being converted/changed to include the letter “E” on the front of the card. This pertains to any/all badges issued for MLI.

Email the Badging Department and submit your name e-mail address in order to auto recieve notifications regarding any changes that take place with security/ID’s, badging procedures, and all related topics.

Security Badging Process
- Application
1. Complete the 3 page application form
Access Control Application, Privacy Act Notice, Disqualifying Crime List
2. Bring the completed forms and acceptable forms of identification to your finger printing appointment.
1. Schedule a fingerprint appointment with your company Authorized Signatory.
2. Bring your completed application forms and acceptable identification to the fingerprinting appointment.
3. Allow 15 minutes for fingerprinting.
4. Terminal map for location of the entrance to the badging office.
- Clearance
The badging office will notify your company when your clearance has been received.
This process could take 3 – 5 working days.
- Training
After you are cleared for an MLI badge, you will need to complete the appropriate training for your employment. Your company will schedule this training. Please allow one to two hours for training in the badging office. After the training you will have your photo taken and your badge printed. Your badge will give you immediate access to the required areas.

- Badging Fees
$75 for SIDA/NON-SIDA badge.
FREE Broken Badge Replacement
$75 Lost Badge
$200 (fine) for badge not returned
This fine will be assessed to the company/vendor for any un-returned employee badges.
Fingerprinting Fees: $55 for all fingerprints using the MLI Airport SON.
$19 for fingerprints using any other SON.

- Renewals
DO NOT LET YOUR BADGE EXPIRE, OR YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO START THE BADGING PROCESS AS A NEW APPLICANT.
To renew a security badge, the badge holder must complete the renewal process in the month previous to the badge expiration date.
1. Sign on with the password provided, to complete the recurrent training.
2. Upon completion of the training, call the badging office to make an appointment for badge renewal.
3. All identification must be current. Nothing may be expired.
4. The identification presented must be original. Photocopies are not accepted.
5. The names on your identification must be your current legal name.

- Name Change Procedures
The TSA requires that all airport security badges display the employee’s legal name. MLI is bound by strict TSA regulations.
1. Please contact the badging office at 309-757-1746 to make an appointment for a badge name change.
2. You must bring the original acceptable identification with your current (new or changed) legal name.
3. Your badge and identification cannot be expired.

Please complete the Access Application forms
1. Have the Authorized Signatory sign your application.
Authorized signatories are also responsible for Annual Recurrent Training.
Note: Authorized Signatory is the company affiliate authorized to sponsor individuals,
and request airport Identification media for them.
2. Complete the General Aviation training either with the Authorized Signatory or at the MLI badging office.
Clearance takes 5 – 7 days.

Parking Card /Crew Parking is not intended for use by the traveling public.
