Arriving on Time

Your check-in time should be no less than 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.

Call your airline at least one day ahead of time to ensure that there hasn't been a schedule/time change for your flight, as time changes occur approximately four times per year and may be different than from when you originally booked your travel.

The airport terminal doors open at 3:30 a.m. and screening opens at 4:00 a.m. Most of the airlines at the Quad City International Airport CLOSE THEIR COUNTERS TO PASSENGER CHECK-IN 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO FLIGHT TIME. Most airlines also expect passengers to be in the boarding gate area 20 - 30 minutes prior to flight time. Please be aware of these requirements as you make your plans to come to the airport, and allow yourself enough time to check in and go through the screening area. The QCIA's busiest time is in the early morning hours, from 5:00 - 6:30 a.m. for the early morning departures of all airlines.

If your flight is delayed, you should NOT change your originally planned arrival time to the airport. Delayed times can be cancelled or changed. Most airlines require you to be in the gate area 30 minutes prior to the scheduled flight time, even if the flight gets delayed. Contact your airline for further details. It is always a good idea to double check the status of your flight by calling the airline's 800 number or by checking their web site.

Need help with your bags or a wheelchair from the parking lot to the airport entrance and ticket counter? We're here for you!  Pull up to the terminal and tell the curb attendant you need assistance from the parking lot and they will send someone to your aid. (Due to security reasons, we cannot accept or hold luggage at the curb while you park your car.)

Weather: If there is a weather event, i.e. snow or thunderstorms, please check by viewing the departures tab or call the 800# of your airline, by using their automated system. Have your flight # handy for the automated attendant.
